About the Photographer ~ Ann Parker
Ann Parker is
an award-winning artist and photographer whose work
has been widely exhibited in the United States and abroad.
For the past decade, she has experimented with a
new imagery, Botanical Metamorphics:
Without film or camera, she projects light through flowers,
fruits, and vegetables onto color-sensitive paper, producing
photograms that reveal the essence of plant life with
extraordinary clarity.
Parker’s work is found in public and private
collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum
of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Boston
Museum of Fine Arts.
Images of “Red Crown Imperial” and
“Jack-in-the-pulpit” on the cover of The Adventurous Gardener:

About the Illustrator ~ Jacques
Hnizdovsky (1915 - 1985)

influence from the work of Albrecht Durer, Japanese woodblock
prints, and the folk art of his native Ukraine.

and today is represented in books, museums, and on the walls of
many collectors.
Images of Hnizdovsky’s woodcuts appearing
in The

New Jersey are printed by permission of Stephanie Hnizdovsky
